Mike J. 

Mike has been a law enforcement officer for over 30 years. He is a certified defensive tactics instructor and has been instrumental in developing and teaching defensive tactics lesson plans for his agency and others. Mike specializes in WWII style close quarters combat in which he has been training for over twenty years. This is a simple yet highly effective style that encompasses hand to hand, edged weapons, blunt trauma weapons, and firearms. It has proven it's worth on the street and in correctional settings. This is not point system or mat based training. However, safety in training is extremely important.  Mike has trained numerous law enforcement and military personnel that were deploying to high risk areas of the world. Also, Mike has conducted training for school personnel in preparing for and defusing confrontational situations. 

Mark has over 24 years of law enforcement experience and over 21 years providing platform instruction, one on one training and high risk/emergency response team instruction.  He served as a Fairfax Criminal Justice Academy Instructor specializing in defensive tactics and expandable baton  After his law enforcement career he joined an organization where he managed, trained, and deployed approximately 2300 persons selected to support the US Dept of State, the International Police Program into High Risk areas of Bosnia, Kosovo, Liberia, East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2003, For this same program, Mark served as an adjunct instructor training an additional 3,500 personnel and later served as the program's Director.  Additionally, Mark trained special military groups deploying overseas and United States Marine Corps Instructors at the Crucible.  


Rusty has been a Law Enforcement Officer for 10 years.  He is currently assigned to his agency's Rapid Response Unit.  He is also a team leader with his agency's SWAT team.  His previous assignments include Patrol, Property Crimes Detective and Sex Crimes Detective.  He holds various instructor certificates, including DCJS General Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Active Shooter Instructor, and Defensive Tactics Instructor.  Rusty is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving 11 years as a Corpsman.  He served 3 years in critical care and 8 years as a Search and Rescue Medical Technician.  He also served as an EMT instructor for 8 years during his career in the US Navy. 

Mike W. 

Mike has been a law enforcement officer for over 9 years.  He currently serves his agency as the SWAT Team's Advanced Life Support (ALS) medical provider. Mike is a Nationally Registered Medic and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC).  He is a graduate of the US Park Police and US Department of Health and Human Services' Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Operational Medical Support School (CONTOMS).  Mike is also an active volunteer ALS Medic with his local Volunteer Rescue Squad.  In addition, Mike is a certified Firearms and Defensive Tactics instructor. 


Chris has been a law enforcement officer for over 8 years.  Chris served as an academy instructor at the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy where he instructed Defensive Tactics and Expandable Baton.  Chris also serves his agency as a TASER and Firearms instructor, and has worked in developing agency training programs and use of force policy.  Chris has been actively training police recruits, veterans, and Fire Marshals since 2009.

Kara has been a certified project management professional (PMP) for over 10 years. Her professionalism, collaborative style and tireless commitment to quality ensures that our clients receive exceptional training services. She understands the importance of measuring the effectiveness of our training programs and ensures that our training services remain current and relevant.
